BoardEx–DIME Crosswalk
I used supervised machine learning to create a crosswalk connecting BoardEx (corporate director and executive data) with DIME (campaign contributions and ideology scores). The resource is freely available to researchers.
The latest version links DIME v4 data through the end of 2024. It can be downloaded from Harvard Dataverse. If you use the crosswalk, please cite the below paper.

FAQ
Why are there multiple DIME links for some BoardEx director IDs?
A single BoardEx directorid may connect to multiple DIME identifiers because Bonica’s algorithm occasionally assigns multiple identifiers to one person (due to changes in jobs, locations, etc.), while BoardEx maintains unique identifiers. In some cases, multiple links may also result from matching errors, though validation exercises suggest this is rare. In my paper, I used weighted averaging of ideology scores when multiple matches occurred.
My links aren’t working. What’s wrong?
Make sure you are using the appropriate crosswalk version that corresponds to your DIME version. Different versions of the DIME data use different identifier schemes.
